A lovely burr walnut davenport. We date this davenport to the second half of the 19th century.

The davenport sits on four shapely bun feet with castors. The davenport is fitted with a writing slope with a new red leather writing surface. The main interior has an open storage space with three small drawers and pigeon holes to the inside rear. There are side hinged doors to each side of the davenport each having four drawers

There is a small pull out sliding drawer for pens etc to the rear of the right hand side that can be locked by a catch within the desk interior.

The desk has a knee hole area and the front is supported by lovely carved legs.

The writing slope and side doors are fitted with locks (key is supplied).

The davenport has an overall height of 35" (89cm), a width of 27.5" (70cm) and a depth of 24" (61cm).

This lovely antique davenport remains in a good solid condition with surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a bit of wear to some edges and an old repair to one of the internal drawer handles.

This remains a very stylish and elegant davenport. It will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
