John Waiwright of Nottingham Longcase clock

A Longcase antique clock by john wainwright of Nottingham.
This oak clock with mahogany trimming is of slim proportion and stands elegantly. It is 30 hour running so requires daily winding wish takes a few seconds to perform.
The painted round dial would have been manufactured in Birmingham by the James Wilson company and this was normal practice.
Wainwright was not only a clock maker but had a shop in central Nottingham and many of this antique clocks are recorded and working well.
The round dial Longcase was very popular in the midland and South Yorkshire are in the second half of the 18th century. It's said that John whitehurst of Derby was responsible for the first round dial Longcase antique clocks.
Both clock and case are in exceptionally good condition and if maintain there is no reason why they won't continue giving many years of good service.
