Circa 1860. Mid Victorian inlaid burr walnut ladies writing desk (bonheur de jour). The back with a central mirror with gilded brass decorated frame flanked by twin glazed cupboards with seaweed marquetry inlay and brass galleried shelves. The bureau with an exceptional rosewood interior with pigeonholes and drawers with gilded ormolu handles. The bureau flap with extensive fine marquetry inlay above a shaped inlaid frieze. Supported on cabriole legs with ormolu mounts and sabots, and unusually, on the rear supports also
