Impressive Georgian Style Burr Walnut 18 Drawer Partners Desk.
This Desk is Raised upon a Plinth Base.
The Front of the Desk Having an Arrangement of 9 Mahogany Lined Graduated Drawers Which retain Their Original Brass Swan Neck Handles, The Top Centre Drawer Having a Fitted Bramah Lock (considered one of the best Locks)
The Reverse of the Desk is a Mirror Image of the Front.
The Top of the Desk Having a Black Leather Writing Surface With Hand Applied Gilt and Blind Tooling.
The Desk Features Quality Burr Walnut Timbers and The Moldings Being of a Cross Grain Form.
Presented in Good Condition (comes in 3 Sections)
(After attending some lectures on technical aspects of locks, Bramah designed a lock of his own, receiving a patent for it in 1784. In the same year he started the Bramah Locks company at 124 Piccadilly, which is today based in Fitzrovia, London and Romford, Essex.[4]
The locks produced by his company were famed for their resistance to lock picking and tampering)
