This is one of the largest bowls I have, probably from northern India and probably made of teak, although accumulated aging makes it hard to be certain. It has a very distinct presence, it's a very imposing bowl. It would hold enough fruit for it to ripen as you move it steadily towards the front making room at the back for fresh supplies. It has an early seasoning split in the bottom that has never been a problem and is completely stable and probably has been for 150 years. It's finish is glorious and shows its age, it doesn't gain that overnight.
