This is a very arresting original watercolour illustration painted by Henry Patrick Raleigh in 1938. It was painted for the Saturday Evening Post and would have been used to illustrate a story. The painting is monochrome watercolour on artists board and depicts a pilot in an open canopy plane staring up at an apparition of two figures, who I assume are deceased pilots. The painting is signed by Raleigh bottom right and dated 1938, there is also a label to the reverse confirming it was the property of the Saturday Evening Post. The painting measures 48.5cm x 38.5cm.
Condition.

The condition is good. There is a slight bow to the board. There is slight wear to the edges of the board. We have a 14 day return policy. We accept returns if item is not as described or generally you are not happy with the item, buyer to pay return postage. Full refund of purchase price on safe return minus postage costs. This is only available within 14 days of receipt of the item.
