A good quality English Victorian Skeleton antique clock. An original glass dome to the rosewood and silk base. A very well fretted silvered dial with Roman numerals and signed by makers 'G & T Hammond, Manchester'. Blued steel hands. An 8-day duration fusee mechanism. A higher quality example with 5 spoke wheels and open spring barrel and a passing strike on the hour to a bell.

George & Thomas Hammond of Manchester are recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1848-1851.
