An exquisitely beautiful fully hallmarked engraved rose gold locket with an elegant hallmarked rose gold belcher chain necklace measuring 17 inches long. This splendid piece contains the original hand tinted portraits, both frames and protective portrait covers. Both items are in superb condition with no issues at all. Assayed at Birmingham in 1915 this wonderful gold pendant is ornately engraved with acanthus and ivy leaves which hold deeply symbolic meanings. Acanthus leaves represent immortality, rebirth, longevity and healing. Ivy symbolises everlasting love, deep friendship, fidelity, or wedded bliss. The locket opens and closes perfectly.
