Such an impressive solid gold Edwardian locket which bears the maker's mark of Sheldon Brothers and full sets of hallmarks. This gorgeous antique locket antique was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1902. The shield shape of the locket and the cartouche convey the desire to protect. Both sides of the exterior case are embellished with a splendid array ivy leaves.

Ivy leaves symbolise everlasting love, fidelity and deep friendship.

The locket is fitted with the original frames, liners and clear portrait protectors.

The hinges and catches work perfectly.

The rolo chain necklace measures 18 inches long.

This locket will accommodate locks of hair, miniature paintings or photographs.
