An ornately embellished antique locket which is dainty and elegant. This portrait locket is fully hallmarked gold. It was crafted by the maker T J Skelton in the Edwardian era. The locket was assayed (tested for gold purity) at Birmingham Assay Office in 1906.

The anterior surface is decorated with a cartouche, a forget-me-not flower and ivy leaves. The posterior surface is also ornamented with ivy leaves.

Forget-me-not flowers convey the feelings of true love and respect.

Ivy leaves convey the desire for everlasting love, deep friendship and fidelity.

The hinge and catch work perfectly. The original frames are present along with two portrait protectors.

The interior case is lined with pristine pale green watered silk.

The belcher chain necklace measures 18 inches long.

This fine antique is ideal for everyday wear. It has the capacity to accommodate two photographs or hold locks of hair.
