Gilt bronze mantle clock by Raingo of Paris
A very good quality and well proportioned c19th French gilt bronze antique clock by Raingo Freres of Paris, circa 1860 in the Classical style.
The clock is in excellent condition and the gilt bronze has been cleaned to just the right level. Very much a decorative mantle antique clock, but with it being finished on all sides the clock would sit well on a sofa table for example.
Great detail throughout the whole case and stamped H. Picard and numbered 2305.
The clock strikes on a "gong" on the hour and on the half hour and is keep excellent time with its 8 day movement.
Beautiful gilt bronze mantle clock in super condition by a quality maker and Henri Picard was a very well recognised founder.
Measuring:
15 1/2” or 39.5cm high
7 1/4” or 18.5cm wide
6” or 15cm deep Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
Viewing here in Uppingham is very welcome in my spacious barn studio but also I have a showroom based within the Uppingham Antiques Centre, which is well worth a visit and have a good lunch in town too!
