An English George II figured walnut, caddy top chest, of good colour & patina. The rectangular top quarter veneered with burr walnut, feather and cross banded. A retractable brushing slide, with a leather inset writing surface, is fitted over an arrangement of four long, graduated, feather banded and cock-beaded oak lined drawers The sides of matched walnut veneers and cross banded. The chest stands on the shaped bracket feet. 805mm high, 825mm wide and 470mm deep. Circa 1735 W J Gravener Antiques is a family owned business, started in 1963 by William who was joined by son, Mark in 1981 and continues today with the same ethos of dealing in fine quality English and Continental furniture, mirrors and decorative objects, from the 18th & 19th centuries.
