George II Eight Bell Bracket Clock
An imposing Mid 18th Century bracket antique clock dating to around 1740. It has an ebony veneered case, with a traditional inverted caddy top with a substantial brass carrying handle and four brass corner finials. The arch brass dial has an engraved silvered chapter ring, subsidiary strike silent and rise and fall dials and above the makers signature, John Berry London. The triple fusee movement sounds the 1/4's on 8 bells and additionally the hours on a single bell. The back plate is engraved and signed.
