Fine Mahogany Fusee Balloon Clock - Harris, London balloon clock fusee %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
This is a fine and impressive English balloon antique clock of the very finest quality made circa 1810 which is in the most wonderful original colour .The 8 inch painted dial is signed George Harris London who was probably the retailer.
The substantial round plated double fussee movement is beautifully made and strikes the hours on a bell. It has a tapped and threaded hole in the back cock to secure the suspension spring as opposed to the normal taper pin . It also has a very unusual pendulum fast so that the clock can be moved around the house without removing the pendulum which has a numbered rating nut. This movement has been professionally restored by Overton Clocks of Chesterfield who always provide outstanding workmanship.
The mahogany veneers used to make the case are as good as I have ever seen and the colour is quite exceptional as is the finish.
As can be seen from the images this clock is in outstanding original condition throughout and is ready to be displayed in the home.It has deliberately been sympathetically cleaned to retain as much of the original patina as possible and will delight those clients who prefer their antiques in this condition . Of course there are some age related marks and slight cracks in the veneer as can be expected but when you consider that this item is over 200 years old it is no surprise. The mounts can be fully restored and polished if the buyer requires at no additional expense. Personally I love the condition as it is.
This impressive clock is 23 inches tall . The width is 13 inches and the depth 8 1/2.
This is a genuine and original clock and I offer a full money back guarantee to this end.
Any potential clients are very welcome to view the clock prior to purchase (or pay on delivery)to ensure that they are satisfied with their purchase.
This clock is much nicer in the flesh and looks superb .
If the asking price is paid in full then I will deliver and set up the clock free of charge to the English mainland,Wales and the Scottish lowlands.I will also provide a 12 months guarantee under these circumstances. This is the same service that is provided by a high street retailer without the customer having to pay for the overheads

If a lesser off is accepted then this will be sold as a trade sale with the clock as described and with shipping costs the responsibility of the buyer.

I will ship this clock worldwide .

UK buyers are asked to use alternative means of payment to Pay Pal if at all possible.
