Fine 18th century lignum mortar. C. 1750
Fine mid 18th century turned lignum mortar of a gorgeous shape and colour. Large size 5 1/4" diameter by 6 1/2" high. The most gorgeous piece of wood has been used with a distinctive change between the dark hardwood and the lighter outside wood.
Good condition for age.
One of four early mortars all recently purchased from a private collection.
