Enid A. Western 1931-2016 Dog Rose Watercolour
This auction is for a very pretty and summery watercolour by the British artist ENID ALISON WESTERN, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner and signed and entitled it verso 'Hedge Rose, Field Daisy'. The painting shows a cluster of these pink tinged hedge or dog roses mingled with daisies and is executed with the artist's usual eye for detail. This painting is one of four by this artist that we will be listing over the next few weeks.
Enid Alison Western, was born Enid Alison Hartley in 1931 in Bolton. She married Michael H. Western in 1951 and specialised in botanical watercolours of this type. There are 10 of her paintings in Horsham Museum, the town where she lived for many years. Sadly, she died in Horsham on 19th January this year.
The painting is mounted with wash lines and is framed in a 1/2" gilt frame and will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Frame size: 19 7/8" x 16 7/8" - 50.5cm x 42.85cm

Condition: Very good. The mount and frame are in very good condition.
