This a superb watercolour of a young boy using a construction kit to build a house. The colour is superb and it is signed in the shadow behind the figure.

Eileen Alice Soper ( 1905-1990) was a painter and etcher, who studied under her father George Soper. She exhibited from 1921- 1930. She had an address at Harmer Green, Welwyn, Herts. She exhibited widely including the Royal Academy. She was born in 1905. Her etchings of children's pastimes are very sought after. She was a very successful illustrator of children's books, including Enid Blyton,and also designed figures of children for the Royal Worcester factory.
