A truly outstanding piece of classic British antique furniture. This Monks bench features magnificent carving to table top and back support which is held in position by two ornately carved lion figures. The item has carved panels to base section and figures to either side. It has a large lift up seat to expose a considerable amount of inner storage space. This Monks bench would be ideal in any period hallway or conservatory. This Edwardian monks bench is in beautiful condition for its age, but sadly, there is a mark to the polish work on the top of the table. This is not so evident when this piece is in the bench position. There is also a minor expansion in the seat area, but this is extremely small and considering its age, this Edwardian Monks bench is in outstanding condition.
