Mottu Freres, Paris . An early French bell striking carriage antique clock. A well cast case with thick bevelled glass panels. An enamel dial with fine numerals and moon blued steel hands. An outside striking countwheel to the backplate and engraved 'Mottu Freres, Paris'. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. The original escapement. A sound fretted base.

JMD Mottu and sons worked at Rue Montmorency from 1830 -1840.
