Early 19th.c. Scottish Regulator Clock c.1825.
Early 19th.c. Scottish regulator longcase clock by the celebrated Whitelaw family of Edinburgh clockmakers c.1825. Circular silvered face of 13″ diameter named for Whitelaw Edinburgh, with engraved numerals, separate second and date dials and original blued steel hands. Within a very elegant case with a low pointed pediment to the hood, sparking flame mahogany veneers and a glazed door. Eight day works striking the hours on a bell. Large silvered cylinder pendulum and unusual flat weights cleverly designed run out of sight down the sides of the case. Excellent condition. The case has been cleaned and polished in our workshops, the works have been cleaned and overhauled and are sold with a 12 month guarantee.
