Early 19th Cent 8 Day Moon Phase Longcase Clock

1 of 6
A handsome early 19th Cent longcase clock by James Shipley of Derby. He is listed as working there from 1809 to 1835.
The case is in nicely figured oak with decorative mahogany panels and mahogany cross banding to the trunk door and base. The hood has nice slim turned columns with brass capitals and a decorative swan neck pediment with brass patria. It stands on its original ogee bracket feet and the trunk door has a working lock and key.
The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a very decorative painted dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date window. To the arch is an additional dial displaying the phases of the moon.
The case is in good condition and a nice colour.
The movement is in good working order with all functions working as they should. It is running well and keeping good time.

221cm (87") high
51cm (20") wide
24cm (9.5") deep
Free local delivery and set up (60mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost.
