TITLE: The Moor of Rannoch, Argyllshire and Perthshire, Scotland

Thompson was born at Seaton, Workington, where he started work as a clerk. His early seascapes were oils and he turned professional about 1920. He used the pseudonym of ‘Donald A. Paton’ for his Scottish subjects. He is famous for his Lake District paintings.
