Dr Christopher Dresser Linthorpe Pottery Jug
A rare and truly magnificent example of a Linthorpe Pottery Aesthetic Movement Jug designed by Dr Christopher Dresser. The vivid green and brown coloured glazes are extremely well fired and controlled and are typical of other examples of Dresser's Linthorpe work..
The jug is finely modelled with great attention to detail, exhibiting Dresser's trademark angular handle and is substantial in size (25cm high), weighing almost 2 kilos.
It is fully marked to the base with Dresser's facsimile signature, Linthorpe mark & Henry Tooth monogram.
C.1880
Size: H25cm x D18cm x W16cm
Condition: In excellent untouched and unrestored condition - as good as the day it was made. We have not seen a piece of Linthorpe Pottery in as good condition, both the rim and handle are remarkably completely intact.
