Georgian Spiral Fluted Chinoiserie Cream Jug c1790
An attractive late 18th century porcelain helmet shaped cream / milk jug with spiral fluted obconical body, set on a stepped circular foot with slim flared spout and raised strap handle with upper thumb spur. Decorated with a Chinese landscape of rock, plants and fence, a copy essentially of Lowestoft's Redgrave pattern including the border around the rim. Nice coloured enamels, a smoky blue, vivid puce pink, iron red, black and a soft green. Unmarked, c.1790-1800, most likely by A & E Keeling (Factory X).
It measures 11.6cm (4 5/8") high, 10.5cm (4 1/8") spout to handle and 6.5cm (2 1/2") wide.
In excellent condition with no damage, repair or restoration and minor handling wear. It has a natural wobble to the base. Christmas Posting we are posting up until Monday 23rd December!
