This is a fantastic Antique Doulton Lambeth Aesthetic Movement period Stoneware Vase, with a date of 1886 to the base and the designers mark for Edith Lupton. It is in very good condition with just a little age-related wear from handling and use, but no chips, cracks or restoration. It measures approximately 28cm high.

The aesthetic movement was a late nineteenth century movement that championed pure beauty and quality which emphasised the visual qualities of art and design over practical, moral or narrative considerations. This vase is no exception and is a beautiful piece.

Edith Lupton worked for Doulton Lambeth from approximately 1875 to 1890. She was a designer in her own right and also assisted other top line Doulton artists with their projects. This makes her work so much more sought after due to the high quality of her work and designs, this vase is no exception.
