Derby Porcelain Dessert Plate Named Landscape View
A fine Derby porcelain dessert plate very finely painted in the style of George Robertson a beautiful view of figures in a country landscape with a rowing boat on a river in the middle distance, a fine viaduct behind with a couple passing along the top, and mountains fading into the distance. The outer edge of the plate has a salmon coloured ground and an ornate stylised gilt pattern. Red painted mark to the reverse and the title "On The River Arno, Italy" in red script, also the gilder number 20 inside the foot rim. c.1815.
It measures 22.2cm (8 3/4") wide and 3.2cm (1 1/4") high.
In excellent condition with no damage or repair. The surface is finely crazed with a few small very faintly yellowed areas to the reverse. Very minor handling wear, there is a small blown glaze bubble but it is hidden up in the mountains and minimally noticeable and there is a small firing fault at the rim. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
