Derby Porcelain Allegorical Figure Of Asia c.1765
A fine Derby figure of a young girl representing Asia from the series The Four Quarters Of The Globe. She stands barefoot on a naturalistic base dressed in exotic robes and holding an incense burner. She has a wreath of fruit in her hair and is holding a posy and a camel is lying behind as her companion. Patch marks to the base, c.1765 and incised "No 200".
Reference: Derby Porcelain Figures, Bradshaw, entry E71, plate 102.
It measures 14.5cm (5 3/4") high and 8.2cm (3 1/4") by 6.3cm (2 1/2") wide.
In excellent condition with only a few very minor points to note: restoration to the perfume burner and holding thumb. Tiny nibbles to the very tips of two fingers of her left hand and right big toe and minor fridge to the camel's left ear. Two glaze losses to her robes. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost.
