David Leach A Fine Studio Pottery Stoneware Bud Vase

A fine example of a vintage David Leach OBE (1911 - 2005) bud vase.
Of globular form, with a short neck and flaring rim.
The stoneware body coloured with a warm-grey glaze which displays fine network of crackling, together with cobalt blue brushwork and red spotted detailing. Iron application to the rim.
The piece was made at Lowerdown Pottery, Bovey Tracey, South Devon and it bears the Lowerdown impressed seal to the edge of the foot.
I believe this particular design was inspired by sea urchin shells.
Standing 9.5 cms tall. Presented in mint condition.
