A beautiful hallmarked continental silver powder compact. This splendid sterling silver powder compact would make an ideal 25th wedding anniversary gift. This compact was crafted in the 1950s for use with loose face powder or as a handbag mirror. This piece is in super condition. The lid and sides are hand engraved in a style known as bright-cut engraving. The compact is slender and elegant. The interior contains an excellent bevelled mirror which gives a good clear reflection and the original puff and sifter. The case is hallmarked with the maker's mark and stamped 925 for sterling silver. The base is decorated with a bold linear engine turned design. The compact measures 8.3 cm x 6.8 cm and weighs 98 grams. The catches and hinges work perfectly. An immaculate velvet pouch is included with this vanity.
