We are offering for sale this very well executed still life oil on canvas by the 20th Century Croydon artist CONSTANCE M. COOPER, who has signed the painting in the lower right hand corner. The painting is a still life of an oriental blue and white bowl filled with spring flowers, including anemones in various colours, primroses, catkins, ivy and foliage.. There is an oriental ceramic figure of a boy in Chinese costume to the right of the bowl.

CONSTANCE M. COOPER 1905-1998 is a twentieth century British artist, who lived in Croydon, Surrey. She studied at Croydon College of Art and was elected to the Society of Women Artists, becoming their Vice President. She was also the President of Croydon Art Society for 22 years. According to their website, she had a business in London employing 23 girls in the design and construction of lampshades for royalty. She was a great supporter of the Scout movement and was largely responsible for the Society raising and donating many thousands of pounds to charities, including the Scouts. At one time she lived at 35 Shirley Park Road, Croydon.

The painting is framed in a 2 1/8 inch black frame with gilt inner edge. It will be supplied with new brass hangers, new brass picture wire and will be ready to hang.

Medium: Oils on canvas
