For sale today we have this fine example of a Compton pottery St George and the Dragon figure. The flat back figure features a lightly armoured St George riding upon an impressive charger with his cape flowing behind him. At his feet is a the coiled serpent of legend, with George's lance about to kill it. Excellent detailing throughout, and the tempera glaze is in good order.

Stands 7 1/2" tall x 7 1/2" across. Marked to the base "Compton Pottery Guildford".
