This vintage musical powder box is suitable for use with modern loose face powder.
A delightful and pretty Kigu 'Concerto' made in the 1960s. The satinized teal enamel lid has the most gorgeous marcasite (pyrite) ornament set atop. The images make the enamel look royal blue but it is teal. The enamel really could not be any better with a lustrous sheen, scratch free and depth as well as being a really enchanting teal colour. The whole musical powder box is in superb condition, including the bevelled mirror which gives a perfect reflection. The interior all gilt jeweller's / jeweler's finish & signed 'KIGU' within the registered triangular trademark & 'Concerto'. Turn the key clockwise three times & the adorable tune plays very well. The sifter is in place. Just adorable! The edges are scalloped & the base decorated with an engine turned design of spirals. The base is signed 'KIGU MADE IN ENGLAND'.
This 1960s Kigu ' Concerto' measures 3 1/4" & weighs 115.8 grams.
