Chinoiserie style cabinet on stand c.1910. Produced by the celebrated Scottish cabinet makers Whytock & Reid Edinburgh’s premier cabinet makers and upholsterers for nearly 200 years (founded in 1807 – they continued production until 2004). Black lacquered or ‘Japanned’ cabinet with three highly figured rosewood panelled doors with gilded and red painted mouldings. On a gilt lacquered stand with floral relief detail at the centre and square section legs with carved block feet and joined with a lacquered stretcher shelf. Maker’s stamp inside the right hand door. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied.
