Chamberlain Worcester Shanked Coffee Can & Saucer
A very stylish late 18th century Chamberlain- Worcester porcelain coffee can and saucer. Tapering shape with spiral fluted double ribs. Decorated in pattern 61, a bold underglaze blue border inside the cup and saucer rim, over-painted with a detailed gilt pattern of daisy flowers set inside blue ovals framed with gold striped panels and dropping gold foliage. The saucer also has a striking gold patterned centre. The cup is marked "No 61" in puce.
The cup measures 6.5cm (2 1/2") high, 9cm (3 1/2") rim to handle and 6.7cm (2 5/8") rim to rim. The saucer measures 14.5cm (5 3/4) wide and 3cm (1 1/4") high. Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Surface wear is light, just a little rubbing to the gilding in a couple of spots and there are a few craze lines on the inside of the cup. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
