Late 19th.c. cast iron stick and umbrella stand c.1880. Highly decorative pierced back panel crisply cast with an elaborate design of a bird with a fish in its beak against nicely observed foliage. Shaped and moulded rail and conforming plinth with acanthus leaf detail and the original removable drip tray. Serial number and maker’s stamp on the base for a foundry in the Belgian city of Huy. Excellent condition.
