Fantastic Quality Brannam Pottery Teapot of Grotesque Dragon.
Came from a private house in Scotland.
Great original piece, very sought after and in great condition, some wear and tear as to be expected, shown in pictures.
Measuring roughly 4.25" wide by 4.5" high by 5.5" long spout to handle.
Teapot, red earthenware, in the form of a grotesque serpent or dragon, coloured with blue, white and orange-brown slip, incised signature and date on base, made by C H Brannam, Litchdon Pottery, Barnstaple, Devon, 1891
the name of the Roman forerunner of Barnstaple, 'Barum', incised on the base, is still used locally.
