A good quality French figural mantel antique clock. Superb quality gilding to the seated lady and child. A white marble case with decorative gilt mouldings and gilded adjustable feet. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell marked Berger of Paris. A Japay Fils mark for 1849. Circa 1850.

Berger of Paris are recorded in Tardy's 'Horologers Francais' book as working in Paris in 1850.
