Antler handled fish servers Sheffield 1886.
A lovely, quality, pair of Victorian fish servers with silver collars and silver plate blade and fork.
The collars are hallmarked at the Sheffield Assay Office in the year 1886 and with the makers stamp of Henry Wilkinson, one of the best silversmiths at the time. The silver plate blade of the knife has the makers stamp for Lee & Wigfall and the anchor for Birmingham, although the fork does not have any stamp I can safely assume it was also made by them.
The antler handles are a fantastic deep brown, with the patination of years of use.
The blade and the fork have a classic design of the Regency period, which gives them an air of Downton Abbey.
Judging by the quality they were used at the table and not in the kitchen.
They are not boxed but are both in very good condition with very little signs of use.
The knife is 14.5 inches long and the fork is 11 inches long.
I also have for sale a set of carving knife and fork by the same makers a d same year.
UK post is included in the price. For international shipping, please contact us for a price.
We want our customers to be satisfied with their purchases, so we offer a money back guarantee. Items must be returned within 14 days and in the same condition as sent. Please note that postage and shipping costs are non-refundable.
