This is an antique silver chest. An English, oak and bound iron storage trunk, dating to the Georgian period, circa 1800.
Superb living room or bedroom storage with fine Georgian appeal
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Select oak presents fine grain interest and deep caramel hues
Stout craftsmanship, with generous use of iron caps to corners
Lid held securely with a long strap hinge with through lock — key present
Opens to reveal a striking lined interior and removable storage tray
Lid rest to the rear keeps the chest open at a generous angle
Dressed with cast iron drop handles to each side
