A unbelievable quality antique Sheraton style inlaid satinwood ladies' writing desk cross-banded in amaranth edged with boxwood & ebony stringing. The top having a leather insert with decoratively tooled border, and a raised shelf to the back flanked by partitioned compartments enclosed behind curved sloping lids inlaid with neo-classical of flowers & foliage surrounding oval figural medallions. The central frieze drawer above an arched kneehole with fanned corner brackets flanked by bow-front side drawers on square tapering legs and spade feet, embellished with elegant scrolls of foliate inlay, 37 in (94cm high, 48in (122cms) wide, 24in (61cm) deep. Strongly believed to be an Edwards and Roberts piece but is not stamped!
