1923 Roger et Gallet 'LE JADE' compact green parrot 1920s compact mirror complete with powder & puff
The most wonderful antique compact made by Roger et Gallet for 'Le Jade' line of perfumes & cosmetics. This line was launched in 1923 by the high end perfumerie who are still thriving today. The lid shows the striking & finely detailed image of a green parrot - the Roger et Gallet initials engraved at the bottom of the lid. The case is signed 'ROGER & GALLET PARIS NEW YORK'. It is such a treat to open the compact & find the original godet in place which is unused. The powder well has sprung clips holding this powder pan full of white face powder firmly in place. The original unused luxurious powder puff is also present, the signed ribbon with 'ROGER ET GALLET' in gold & the edge trimmed with gold too. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The base is smooth gold tone & signed near the hinge. Measures 5 cm & weighs 45.2 grams.
