An outstanding antique French period walnut side / writing table. This was made in France, it dates from around the 1790-1810 period.

It is of exceptional quality, it is a great size and it is beautifully designed. It is a useful size to be used as a small desk or console table.

The walnut displays a wonderful patina and gorgeous colour tones. The single drawer has a beautiful gilt bronze escutcheon, the interior is nicely fitted out with original dividers. This stands on tapered legs terminating brass feet caps, the back is also nicely finished so this can be used as a free standing item.

We have had it re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is excellent for its age. There are just some minor marks and indentations remaining beneath the polish here and there, commensurate for age.
