This is a very pretty Chinoiserie lacquered sewing table dating from the early 19th Century. The table has a burgundy ground with traditional images of rural scenes in hand applied red and gilt to all sides and to the interior. This had at one time a fabric bag beneath which is now lacking. The compartments to the interior are still present and the lacquer work is generally in very good order. The base of the table is most decorative, with its gilded hairy paw feet and fine gilded floral decoration.

The table would make a very nice alcove or lamp table. It measures 72 cms high and is 64 cms wide by 42 cms deep.

UK delivery can be arranged with our local courier and costs £70 plus vat to most areas. PLEASE NOTE WE ARE AWAY UNTIL DECEMBER 1st.
