A very attractive antique 18th Century coffer in oak with carving to the front. It has panelled front, back and sides with chip carving and stands on stile feet. The top (possibly a replacement) is plain and slightly warped and is attached via replacement hinges which have been mended at some point (see photos). A very useful size for storage, this iconic piece of antique furniture would grace any room. Very solid, would make an ideal toy box, linen chest or coffee table.

Fairly solid condition with lovely age and warm patina. The top (possibly a replacement ) is slightly warped so does not quite close fully. The hinges are replacements and have been mended at some point (see photos). There is evidence of some old worm holes to the bottom/ bottom stretchers which has been treated with worm killer as a precaution. Various splits and knocks commensurate with age.
