A fine painting of an angel after Fra Angelico in original giltwood frame. The painting is worked in gouache with extensive gilding and an azure blue background. The painting is in excellent untouched condition. The original frame is beautifully carved wood depicting trailing roses with the original gilding. There are some minor bits of repair to the frame as it is quite delicate, but overall it is in great condition. The work retains the original description on the reverse in Italian and also a probable date of 1928. The whole is a superb little piece and ready to hang.
