An early example of a French bell striking carriage antique clock. A 'one-piece' case with thick bevelled glass panels. An enamel dial with fine Roman numerals and 'moon' blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell. Stamp marks for Japay Freres with grand medal of honour 1855 and Henri Marc and numbered 37640. Circa 1860.
