A unique, pretty Arts & Crafts extending dining table probably made around 1900 by a country craftsman with a flair for design. The top is made from American Tulipwood and is made up in 4 pannels in a framework and stained to a Walnut finish. The base is probably Pitch Pine. The legs are set at 45 degrees to the sides of the table and have heart-shaped cut out decoration. The legs are supported by a Y-shaped hayrake streacher reinforced on the underside with wrought iron. The table has been completely restored, all of the joints have been reglued and the top surface finished with a heat resisting finish. It is in very good restored condition.
