Abbott Gotshall Sterling Silver Angel Fish Brooch
This is a delightful mid-century designer Sterling Silver Angel Fish brooch. The brooch is made in the USA by Abbott Gotshall and dates to the 1950s/60s.
Abbott Gotshall (1906-1988) was an American silversmith and jeweller. He was born in Massachusetts but is mostly associated with the town of Sandwich in New Hampshire where he handcrafted his pieces. Most of his work was inspired by nature with both sealife and plants featuring heavily and he is also renowned for his beautiful snowflake brooches and pendants.
The Angel Fish brooch is 3.1cm by 3.9cm and weighs 4.8g. It is in lovely condition and ready to wear. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The fish is marked STERLING on the back and has the AG in a circle makers' mark for Abbott Gotshall.
