Early twentieth century gold and enamel Mothers’ Union brooch. The stylised "MU" Mothers' Union motif is enamelled in white and blue into gold cloisons and mounted on a flat bar with pin and safety catch. Full hallmarks for 9 carat gold, Birmingham 1935, maker -Turner & Simpson, to the bar and matching subsidiary marks to the back of the badge (catch pin itself is silver). The brooch is offered for sale in the original gilt-tooled fitted brown leather box from the Grantham retailer. 43mm long, badge 16mm
I trade in small silver, jewellery and objets d'art. I sell primarily at antiques fairs and in cabinets in Christique Antique Centre in Dorking. I try to find unusual and interesting stock and like to keep turning it over, so I can buy more. Postage and packing are free within the UK - unless explicitly stated otherwise.
