late Victorian genuine Holland & Sons 9 drawer pedestal desk made in Walnut. The drawers all lined in Mahogany to a high quality, retaining all the original handles, locks and escutcheons. The desk polished to all 4 sides with good even colour, recently re-leathered in antique green with tooled and gilt decoration. A small desk with good proportions and generous kneehole, the whole raised on a plinth base with inset castors. Stamped to the middle drawer "Holland & Sons", this maker renowned for quality English Furniture in the 19th century.
